Things to Do Before You Call Tech Support for Windows PC

Computers are great tools when they work properly. When they don’t, they often become a nightmare for the user. I wrote this book so that many could save an unnecessary call to the help desk or the technical support line. We all have been in the position of going through a cascade of automated prompts to finally reach a real live person who doesn’t speak our language and further aggravates the situation.

I know this sounds crazy, but the first thing you sometimes need to do is to step away from the computer. take a walk. Get something to drink. Call a friend. Sometimes it is so easy to get “tunnel vision” and become so frustrated with the situation that common sense goes right out the window. I am guilty of this more than anyone I know. When i finally do walk away from the computer I often have “duh” moments where i suddenly realize the answer to my problem. The solution presents itself so clearly and find myself smacking my head and then returning to the computer and resolving the issue.

I hope you find this book useful and insightful.

About the Author

Thomas Oen lives in a small town in Ohio in the United States. He is happily married and has four children. A Help Desk technician for a local convenience store chain, he has authored Things to Do Before You Call Tech Support for Windows PC. Oen’s love of writing started at a young age. As a child, he read books written by C.S. Lewis and Judy Blume, as well as the great stories of the Bible. His love for reading inspired him to write from time to time. Although he was raised in a loving Christian home, he spent many years away from God. It took a series of setbacks and a divorce before he truly sought the Lord and chose to serve him. Oen currently attends a small Methodist Church and volunteers when he can. It is his hope and prayer that others will take away many important truths about God and Bible from Mugan and the Angelic Wars. The superhero Mugan is a character we can identify with as he learns to obey God and rely on his power. Like Mugan, we all must choose whether we will follow God or our own passions, friends or family. Ultimately we, like Mugan, need to make peace with the person God has called us to be.
