Overview

In every chapter of this book, mention has been made of the money-making secret which has made fortunes for more than five hundred exceedingly wealthy men whom I have carefully analyzed over a long period of years.

The secret was brought to my attention by Andrew Carnegie, more than a quarter of a century ago. The canny, lovable old Scotsman carelessly tossed it into my mind, when I was but a boy.

Then he sat back in his chair, with a merry twinkle in his eyes, and watched carefully to see if I had brains enough to understand the full significance of what he had said to me.

When he saw that I had grasped the idea, he asked if I would be willing to spend twenty years or more, preparing myself to take it to the world, to men and women who, without the secret, might go through life as failures. I said I would, and with Mr. Carnegie's cooperation, I have kept my promise.

This book contains the secret, after having been put to a practical test by thousands of people, in almost every walk of life. It was Mr. Carnegie's idea that the magic formula, which gave him a stupendous fortune, ought to be placed within reach of people who do not have time to investigate how men make money, and it was his hope that I might test and demonstrate the soundness of the formula through the experience of men and women in every calling.

He believed the formula should be taught in all public schools and colleges, and expressed the opinion that if it were properly taught it would so revolutionize the entire educational system that the time spent in school could be reduced to less than half.

Real review follows, but 1st here is my hole in my glow screen rant:
THERE IS A HUGE HOLE IN MY SCREEN AFTER ONLY HAVING MY GLOW 2 WEEKS AND NO SUPPORT, NO RETURN POLICY THAT I CAN SOLVE, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OVERSEAS AND THEY CAN BARELY UNDERSTAND YOU .... WHAT IS THE POINT OF BUYING THESE E INK DEVICES IF THEY COST NEARY AS MUCH AS NON E INK TABLETS BUT BREAK IN 2 WEEKS AND HAVE 100X LESS FEATURES ?????!!!!
Think and grow rich. This is one of those book that everyone talks about but few people read. I decided to read it to find out what the big fuss was and I was also curious why 100 people referred it to me, while none of them actually read it. (how facinating!)
I guess I would liken this book to a rose garden filled with weeds. You have to sift through an awful lot of crap to get to the good stuff. this book honestly almost hit the trash can a few times on my way through it. Imagine a math text book blended with a cult religion book with biz ideas speckled around here and there, and that's how its written, .... to start with so you are starting off with eye lids 1/2 closed, and at the same time you are also starting off resistant to the material cause so much of it is just this mumbo-jumbo new agey, new thinking, vibrations of the universe and the earth spirit of the sky will bring you your dreams .... . (aka those people who believe we are all possessed by aliens and if they imagine a ferarri hard enough, while watching the big bang theory or dozing off at work, .... the ferarri in their choice of color will arrive.) I had to continually "manage my state" to move through the book, so I just told myself "napoleon hill put this junk in there to weed out the losers" ... although he may actually believe it, I can't say for sure.
But if you can survive all of that, this book has a number of core lessons. Sorry new agey, space alien, vibration, abundance, new thinker types ...., ... the new age stuff in here is the smoke screen and the real messages are hidden within. The aliens are not going to bring you a ferrari.
