All Music Guide - Rick Anderson
The sophomore effort from this very young Irish band is one of the best traditional folk albums to come out this year; not since the early work of Altan has a new group sounded this fresh and exciting. Danu draws almost exclusively from traditional sources, but its members aren't afraid to mess around with tradition when it pleases them throwing, for example, the occasional contrapuntal harmony line into the mix on the reel "I'm Ready Now", nor is their playing bogged down by earnest folkie reverence. Bodhran player Donnchadh Gough is especially creative, holding the pulse down firmly, yet varying his rhythmic and timbral approach widely from tune to tune. Singer Ciaran O...

Singer Ciaran O Gealbhain is underused, appearing only on a few tracks, some of which are among the album's best. His singing on "Green Brooms" and "An Paistin Fionn" is gently lovely, and he even manages to breathe new life into as tired a song as "Fair and Tender Ladies," which is one of this disc's highlights. The instrumental sets are also uniformly excellent. Highly recommended.

If you only choose one up and coming new Celtic band album , let this be it!

I saw these very talented young fellows at Bethlehem Celtic Classic, and their energy, poise, and feeling were astounding! Also their fun level put their audience through the floor with stamping... This album is amazing, especially their rendition of 'Fair and Tender Ladies'. I highly recommend!!!

    what talent!!

These guys stole the show at the Celtic Colours International Festival on Cape Breton Island this October. We would have gladly watched them perform every night, and were disappointed that we only saw them twice. They play with an intensity and energy, humor and talent that is incredibly refreshing - and they're still young! Donnchadh Gough is truly one with his bodhran - a pure pleasure to watch. If these guys come to your area - don't miss them!

    IRISHFEST'S BEST!!!!!

Easily the best new band. I saw them live at the Irishfest and I have to say their live performance is the only thing that beats this recording. Lot's of energy, innovative, and expertly played!!! I love you, lads!
