TV host, commentator and lawyer Bloom felt compelled to write her debut after becoming disgruntled with society's intellectual decline.
Appalled by the fact that 23 percent of American women would rather lose their ability to read than their figures, the author writes with frantic urgency about the ignorance that is infecting the country and how this epidemic affects American women. A journalist whose career highlights include covering the Saddam Hussein trail, Bloom is dismayed that women are most interested in celebrity scandals, which make up more than 95 percent of the cases she is currently assigned to cover. The author urges women to reassess their priorities, put down the tabloid magazines and become more aware of world issues, many of which she indulges in detailing. Acknowledging that she would be taking cheap shots if she didn't offer solutions, the second half ofthebooksuggests ways women can make a positive impact in their communities—e.g., volunteering and donating to worthy causes. The author also includes a list recommended reading and recipes that save time in the kitchen. While clearly written out of genuine concern, readers who are sensitive to criticism of American culture may take offense to the use of terms such as "Dumb American Syndrome."

So, this book has been in my wife's hands every night for the past week. It has trumped our usual nightly shows. She left it sit'n on the nightstand yesterday morning, I happen to have the day off. I picked it up, read the back cover, cracked it open for a glance....and...didn't put it down till last night! I literally could not set it down! GREAT BOOK! So well written, easy to read, smart, funny, and lives up to the title. I think I have a new secret set of tools that are gonna come in handy while raising our daughter. Now I just need to tell my wife I finished her book before she did...Ha!

Lisa Bloom is one to emulate. She is witty, funny and knows how to inspire. I love books that inspire me to search out the true joy in life and serve as a reminder to me to USE my own, individual power, desires and ideas to keep me peeked at all times. There is so much more to life than worrying how you "look" to other people, when they most likely don't really care how you look. What a relief just to rid ourselves of that minor detail so we can spend our time thinking about important matters. This is a great message to pass on to those you care about.Truly a wonderful gift idea!

This is the book for women who appreciate the Feminine Mystique but who yearn for more practical advice and less antiquated jargon.
I think all young women should read as they find their own voices and individuality in this "dumbed down" world.

This book is not only empowering but entertaining as well. I never realized how stagnant my mind has become until I got slapped upside the head by Lisa Blooms' thought-provoking words. Thanks for the wake-up call Lisa!

I can't wait for my friends to read Think so that we can talk about it -- Bloom has a way of presenting challenging and oh-so-important issues in a way that is actually fun to read! This book is especially important to me because I have daughters. When pop culture is telling them to worry about how shiny their hair is or how their butts look in their jeans, this book makes it okay -- even cool -- to think about issues like education, justice and poverty, and to question, question, question what messages they're fed by the culture at large. A clever call to engagement that should be a must-read for everyone.....

I LOVED this book. Lisa's writing style is captivating, clever, and easy to read. A great book for moms, daughters, or women of any age. Brilliant tips for time management, happiness, and staying smart. This book will be my new go-to gift for all my girlfriends!

Lisa Bloom has accomplished what so many authors before her have failed to do - write a provocative, intelligent book that ANYONE can read. I feel like so many books these days are written by people who just reworded their book from a thesaurus...but Think reminds us all of the importance of not letting our minds become bogged down by culture in a creative, easy to read tone. I highly recommend this book for anyone, from people looking to reevaluate their life to people just looking to get a good book.

I couldn't put Think down. It was one of those books that I stayed up until 3am to read as long as my eyes would stay open. I loved the combination of being intelligent, sassy, smart, funny and inspirational. I will gift this book to every girlfriend of mine. We all become stronger as individuals and in communities with raising our levels of awareness in how we can harness the power of our own minds.

As a lover of books, this was one of the best reads I've had in some time. I couldn't put it down and read it in two days. It inspired me to "do something." After reading, I reached out to several charitable organizations with which I wanted to work. I'm now so happy to be helping others in ways I couldn't imagine. I owe it all to Lisa!

This book really had an effect on me; it changed how I think, act, speak, and carry myself. It was also really fun, fast, and easy to read, which is impressive considering how interesting and informative it was, too. But none of this is a surprise coming from the incredibly smart and talented Lisa Bloom. I can't wait to read whatever she comes up with next.

As a woman, I was obviously intrigued by the concepts presented in this book. Once I began digging in, however, my mind began a journey of provocation and education, taking me to new heights of intrigue and inspiration. Lisa Bloom was born to inspire, motivate, and change minds. Her writing style makes you instantly feel like her best friend, there to support you and help you learn and grow. Everyone who wants to have their comfort zone tickled or intellect expanded should read this book. It is impossible to come away from it unchanged.

At first I thought that this book might be just of interest to women, but after I started reading it, I realized that she perfectly describes the increasingly celebrity obsessed and anti-intellectual strain that's causing America to fall into decline. Unlike most authors who just point out problems, she also tells how to *fix* what we're doing wrong. Five stars

Lisa Bloom is something rare in this world, a straight-talking media personality whose mission is to improve the world, not "dumb it down." She uses her high-profile status and her law degree to stand up for children and families. Ms. Bloom is already a super-heroine on issues like discrimination, bullying and women's rights. I often quote her, and now I'll have her wisdom always at hand with "Think." I know this book will inspire conversations between mothers and daughters, and women everywhere.

I have followed Lisa Bloom for years, and expected something hard hitting and thought provoking. Well that is exactly what I got out of it. The book forces you to challenge your knowledge in a very male driven world, and at the same time will give men a very accurate glimpse into what drives women, or rather should drive women.

You must read this book if you are a woman - or have a daughter, a mother, a sister... If you know any women, buy them this book. This WILL be the conversation once this book is release. I was fortunate enough to read a review copy and I can't stress enough how important this topic is. It took the brilliance of Lisa Bloom to get people taking about this. I read the sample but as the author said I decide to put my time to better use and read somthing better/smarter.
Isn't she stating the obvious and her solution the common sense? Any grown woman or girl should have known what she said by the time when they are studying at secondary schools (high schools).
Maybe a nice 'wake up call' for the young girls in the USA or teenagers in other countries, but not for grown women who have brians and look for inspiration or knowledge.
