Think or Sink: The One Choice That Changes Everything

Overview

The instinctive response to any crisis or challenge is a predictable, hard-wired physiological reaction: the fight-or-flight response. The problem isn’t the response itself, the problem is using it in situations that don’t really warrant it. Moreover, when used too often this inappropriate stress response can have detrimental effects on both physical and mental health. By contrast, successful people and great leaders have learned to control their flight-or-flight reaction. They think for themselves, choosing ...

They think for themselves, choosing empowering states of being instead of sinking into the prevailing negative state of their circumstances and the people around them. In Think or Sink, Gina Mollicone-Long shows readers how to gain control of their responses and produce powerful results. Rather than a book about what to think, it’s a book about how to think. By learning how to make good decisions, readers are able to not only meet challenges head on, but to benefit from them as well.

    Best Self-Book of 2010

Gina Mollicone-Long approaches stress management in a way that it has never been tackled before. Most self-help books try to categorize the way you're feeling or thinking in an effort to make it easier for the author to explain. Gina, however, finds the ONE common denominator to all of life's problems - big or small - and provides you with a simple technique to overcome adversity each and every time.

Gina believes there is no such thing as stress. When I first read that, I thought - how untrue! But, I was quickly convinced she was right before the end of the first chapter. Gina is 100% right! Stress doesn't exist - Life exists! What's stressful for me may not be stressful for someone else, which just proves that we CHOOSE to respond to stress. If we change a negative reaction to a positive one, we can over time rewire how we react in stressful situations.

Who needs a shrink, trainer or life coach when this book does it all? This book is the cure-all for unfulfilled New Year's resolutions.

Her tips have already helped me relieve stress, and I just got started! I can't wait to apply what I learned to every problem I face. Better yet, it's only January and I already know what I'm getting my friends and colleagues for holidays and birthdays!
