    Must have for any graphic designer.

    I am an up an coming graphic designer. And if your serious about design then this is a must have. Not only do you get some theory on the use of type but you also get a lot of practical examples too. Its breaks down the structure of type, the origins of type, and gives you a lot of examples of the best application for different kinds of type. The difference between an average designer and a great designer is in their type use. This book shows you how to fully utilize and get the most out type.

    I'm personally not interested in "type" history...but if you are...it's your book!

    I had to get this book for computer class, but I'm NEVER gonna use this book for my personal profit. It's only history of how the letters were created, that's it, I personally don't do anything with that information. No one in my class likes that book. If you're into types, sure, it might be interesting to have, but otherwise, not worth it. Too expensive just for historical facts and nothing practical to learn...from my point of view.
