Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Following Wil's Bones, this international thriller continues the story of staunch atheists, Dr. Wil Wilson and his wife, Hope, a New York Times correspondent. After a tragic plane crash kills Wil's college roommate, the CEO of Freedom Airways, Hope receives a mysterious note suggesting the airline might be covering up the true cause of the crash. As Hope begins to discover the real story, her family's lives are put in jeopardy. Their beliefs are also challenged by the events unfolding around them as well as some staggering personal difficulties. Unlike many conservative Christian novels, the main characters are not Christians yet they are portrayed as likable, intelligent figures. Still, Bowen's work comes off as somewhat heavyhanded. It may be a good follow-up for fans of the "Left Behind" series or Ted Dekker's Blink and Three. For public libraries, especially those with male readers looking for suspense without graphic violence or profanity. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
