Book Four in the USA Today bestselling Rose Gardner Mystery Series!

While Rose recovers from a broken heart, she finds herself at odds with her sister--and business partner--Violet. Rose buries herself in her landscaping work, but becomes worried when her employee and friend, Bruce Wayne Decker, goes missing.

In the meantime, Fenton County assistant D.A., Mason Deveraux has been patiently waiting to begin a relationship with Rose, but she realizes she needs to confront the demons of her past before she can embrace a new future. She needs to find out the truth about her birth mother.

But her past isn't her only demon. An undercurrent of tension has been spreading through Henryetta, Arkansas since drug lord, Daniel Crocker's arrest six months ago. Still, she's not prepared for a nightmare come true: Crocker's escape from prison. Crocker carries a grudge and he's determined to make Rose pay, but he plays a game of cat and mouse, forcing Mason and the Fenton County Sheriff's department to hide Rose on her birth mother's farm. But will it be enough to save her?

Meet the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Denise Grover Swank was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in the area until she was nineteen. Then she became a nomadic gypsy, living in five cities, four states and ten houses over the course of ten years before she moved back to her roots. She speaks English and smattering of Spanish and Chinese which she learned through an intensive Nick Jr. immersion period. Her hobbies include witty Facebook comments (in own her mind) and dancing in her kitchen with her children. (Quite badly if you believe her offspring.) Hidden talents include the gift of justification and the ability to drink massive amounts of caffeine and still fall asleep within two minutes. Her lack of the sense of smell allows her to perform many unspeakable tasks. She has six children and hasn’t lost her sanity. Or so she leads you to believe.

I love this series! Denise never disappoints and delivers another great story. Plus the Mason vs Joe match just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next book in June! Go team Mason!

Rose is still recovering from the break-up with her first love, but she has developed quite a support system that is ready to step in and help her. Her life is in danger at various times during the course of the novel, and the action is riveting. From the first page, I couldn't put this book down. I have truly loved seeing Rose develop as a character and her as her confidence grows throughout the series, I seem to adore her more and more. I cant wait for the next book!

Wow! This was the first full length novel in the Rose Gardner Mysteries that I had to wait for. The suspense after book 3 and the novella was killing me. I could not put this book down. Rose faces a number of challenges – fighting with her sister, learning that Joe is back with Hilary and under his father’s thumb and the decision to move her relationship with Mason to beyond friendship. It is amazing to think that all the events in Rose’s life occurred over a few months and not years. For all her life, Rose was sheltered from the world and her past. Rose needs to start truly being an adult and facing the consequences for her actions. She also needs to deal with the issues (past, present and future) of her friends and foes. Being the 4th book, the supporting characters (many whom I love or love to hate) are given more scenes and attention and I was thrilled to read that. Expect many cheers, tears and adventures!

Rose has come to a point where she must come to terms with the fact that sometimes you have to love yourself more than anyone else. In this book Rose continues to become stronger while coming to terms with her past. In the meantime, sexy Assistant D.A. Mason Deveraux is patiently waiting for Rose to be ready to move on, but with Daniel Crocker on the loose once more, will he have his chance?

260 pages, very abrupt comclusion. It felt like it ended in the middle of the book. Very simple mystery. The last four books of this series have cost $5.99 plus tax. There is some rather mild violence and the murders are not gory. There is a loyt of nondescriptive sex. These could be consideted chick lit and cozy mysteries. These books ae fun and entertaning, a good read, which can be easily put down and picked back up. On the downside, they are rather expensive for an ebook and there needs to be a new element added to change things around and add some spice. It is the same plot and love triangles with the same outcomes. These books while still vey good are no longer fresh and have become predictale and slightly boring. Ages 18 and up. AD

Rose Gardner's quirky character is as loveable as always. These are light, humorous stories which entertain without too much mental exertion. Thirty-One and a Half Regrets is no exception. That is not to say these books are not well-written because they are.
