New York Time and USA Today bestseller!

Book Six in the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Mystery series!

Rose is called into action when Neely Kate's cousin goes missing and the police refuse to take it seriously. But while the authorities--Rose's ex-boyfriend, included--are certain the missing woman has run away, mounting evidence points to foul play. Rose agrees to help her friend, even if it means partaking in Neely Kate's shenanigans, including an impromptu trip to a strip club.

And because trouble never comes without a guest, Skeeter Malcolm, Fenton County's newly crowned underground king, resurfaces, saying he needs Rose's visionary gift to track down his enemies. He makes her the only offer she can't refuse: The guaranteed safety of her assistant DA boyfriend, Mason Deveraux, who is being threatened by forces unknown. The Fenton County law enforcement is still abuzz about the infamous Lady in Black, who took part in the underground auction that earned Skeeter his crown. Can Rose risk a reprisal of her role?

As the stakes continue to rise and the search for Neely Kate's cousin becomes increasingly complicated, Rose must struggle to keep both her secret identity and her sanity.

Rose continues to excite... Rose continues to grow and her involvement in the Henrietta underground crime world is getting deeper. It seems like Rose is getting in a little over her head, but she will stop at nothing if it means guaranteeing the safety of her boyfriend, Mason. Even if she has to make a deal with Skeeter Malcolm. As the series progresses, each book seems to be getting more and more complex. I can't wait to see where the series goes next.

After the drama and heartache of the last few books, it is great to see a little more humor in this book. How can you not have a fun time reading about Rose and Neely Kate trying to find Neely Kate's missing cousin, Dolly Parton (no not that Dolly Parton)? Add a dash of the new king of Henryetta's underground, Skeeter Malcolm, and you have a book full of laughter and shenanigans. My one main complaint is that with Joe in town to stay, the love triangle of Rose/Mason/Joe hits new levels. I admit that I am starting to get a little frustrated with the romance drama. I know that there needs to be drama to make a book more appealing; especially when you are dealing with a series. For me, I rather Rose have happiness with either guy (although I am fully Team Mason) and for the books to concentrate more on her other relationships – her estrangement from Violet, and her friendships with Neely Kate, Bruce Wayne and Jonah and her new arrangement with Skeeter. These supporting characters are amazing and I hope to see more of them in the future books.

You would think that after 5 books of Rose getting in over her head, a reader would get fed up. Not true! Each book is an exciting new adventure I look forward to, and know I will be a little sad when it all ends. Rose continues to struggle with the fall-out of her relationship with Joe, her sister's meddlesome and righteous behavior, but finds solace in a group of friends who encourage her to continue to become comfortable in her own skin....but is standing up to, and working with, the Underground King of Fenton County a good move? It definitely spells trouble, and we all know how much trouble Rose gets in!

As always another great read by Denise. Love watching Rose get more independent and stronger with each book. And oh my the shenanigans that Rose and Neely Kate get into had me laughing throughout the book. Denise always pulls you into the story and the characters like no one else can. I was hoping for more about Mason and Joe working together to bring down J.R., but I know that I need to be patient, that it is coming in future books.

Loved the series of Rose Gardner starting with the first book.  Couldn't put the books down. Looking forward to more in the series about Rose and all the other characters .  Want to know what happens to Skeeter and Rose's 6 more months of involvement with him.

I rank this series right up there with the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. There is humor, action and some quirkiness that mixes together into a very appealing and entertaining reading experience. Looking forward to more of these. Thank you Ms. Swank!

I absolutely love this series and this book did not disappoint! Rose is so entertaining and I love how Neely Kate was more involved with this book. The two of them together is awesome since they cause so much mischief! I'm actually enjoying Skeeter as more of a regular in the books and even though he is a "bad boy" I still kind of root for him. All in all it was a wonderful book and can't wait for the next one in the series!!!
