Overview

When Herman Cain speaks, people listen. When he debates, he wins.
If you care about the future of America, you have heard of the down-to-earth political newcomer running for president, the straight-talking man of the people with blunt assessments of what America needs. Originally overlooked by mainstream politicos and media, Herman Cain is truly a candidate from "outside the Beltway," but no longer one who is being ignored.
BUT WHO IS HE?
While Herman Cain has been the host of a popular conservative Atlanta-area radio talk show called The Herman Cain Show, a different name originally captured American interest. As CEO, Herman Cain transformed Godfather's Pizza from a company teetering on the verge of bankruptcy into a household word. Cain—as those with an interest in commonsense solutions to political problems will remember—is also famous for using the language and logic of everyday business to expose the fallacies inherent in Clinton assumptions about "Hillarycare" during a 1994 televised town hall meeting.
WHAT IS HIS STORY?
Herman Cain's rise is the embodiment of the American dream. His parents, Luther and Lenora Cain, made a living the only way black people could in the '40s and '50s. Luther held down three jobs, including being a chauffeur; Lenora cleaned houses. They had two big dreams: to buy a house and to see their sons graduate from college. With dedication and hard work, they made both these dreams come true. In this thrilling memoir, Herman Cain describes his past and present . . . and the future he is determined to create, a future that will put our country back on track. His message resonates because he describes the American reality, and his down-to-earth personal tale of hope and hard work is both unforgettable and inspirational.
***
What is it in my DNA that years ago prompted me to forgo the ease of cruise control and take on the enormous challenge of doing my part toward making America a better place for my granddaughter and the generations to come?
Why do I, a son of the segregated South, refuse to think of myself as a "victim" of racism?
What is it that motivates me to insist on defining my identity in terms of "ABC"—as being American first, black second, and Conservative third?
Just who is Herman Cain? And how did I get this way?
Just a hint: it may have had something to do with lessons learned from my parents, Lenora and Luther Cain, Jr.

    Short but Sweet

Mr. Cain writes as he speaks...Pithy and fascinating. While autobiographies can be boring, this one is not. In one page he condenses his experiences on the Federal Reserve, multiple boards and volunteer organizations. He begins by discussing his early life which would have been difficult but was good because of his very functional family. His ambition, confidence and drive are admirable. A fast and interesting read.

    Great book!

I have always liked Herman Cain because he is a man of God and seemed to say things that made a lot of sense. This book confirmed what I thought about him. I am convinced more than ever he should be and will be the next President of the United States!

We Need To Know ALL The Candidates

I found this to be an easy read and very informative concerning Cain's business background and his journey to success. You also learn that Herman Cain can make you laugh and at the same time making you feel inspired. It did not have as much information concerning his different positions on current issues and nothing about his thoughts on foreign affairs. I like a lot of the information in the book and it does give you a picture of exactly who Herman Cain is and some of the things he thinks are important. I would't use this book only as a source of research on Herman Cain; but, it is a good place to start. If you want to be an informed voter, you need to read this book.

As a cancer survivor I can relate to Mr. Cain's journey and his faith in God. As a citizen, I want nothing more than to have this extraordinary man as our next President.

    Good, easy read!

I bought this because I became a supported of Mr. Cain since the first presidential debate. It is a very inspirational read which gives one insight into the man. He grew up from humble beginnings in the segregated south, but had involved parents that expected nothing less than his best. Using a superior mind and not willing to accept racial stereotypes which were rampant at that time, Mr. Cain got a good education, perservered and became very successful at everything he did.

Definitely a good life lesson no matter who you are!

I thought wrong, but love Cain

I read it all and enjoyed it thoroughly. However, I thought there was to be a history from birth to now in there. Why not?

    Kyle says.......

Come on people! How could this man ever possibly think he could be President? He may be a decent business man, but there is quite a difference between selling pizza and being POTUS. Also, lsn't the title of this book jumping the gun just a slight bit? Talk about pretense and arrogance. Go back to making pizza, Herman, we (well, most of us) aren't stupid.

    Must Read

For those considering a Republican for the US Presidency, this is a must read. Not a recomendatioln nor a condemnation of the candidate but a fair insight into his politics.

    BE INSPIRED!!!!!

A very quick inspiring read! Mr. Cain clearly lays out his plan to bring our country back from the brink of Socialism. He embodies what can happen when people dare to dream and take responsibility for their own lives. Mr. Cain could have chose to be a victim which seems to be the calling card of so many on the left. This reader is so glad he chose to be a leader instead of a mis-leader; a visionary instead of a pretender.
