My husband and I happened to be traveling in London and saw this book. I was immediately attracted to its vintage look and feel. Made me remember having our librarian hold up books with cellophane wrapping and reading from them when I was a kid. So, we purchased one for my niece. Happened to travel to Ireland the next year and found This is Ireland... so the tradition continues. We'll keep getting her one with each trip. (note: this one had cellophane wrapping where we purchased it, but when we ordered an extra copy online it didn't... so I'm not sure if they all have one.)
Wonderful book for childrens but not only. It has a lot of beautiful drawings... and it is a classic that everyone could love to read and to have.
So glad it's back in print. Had this book when I was growing up in London. I looked at it so much it was falling apart. Whimsical and information packed. A general flavor of London and good ideas of places to see if you're planning a visit.
