As a 4th generation San Francisco native, I can speak with some authority on this classic book about my city. The best part about it is the illustrations....classic 60's style cartoon-type artwork features cars, fashion and hints of advertising of the day. The story walks you through a wide array of San Francisco landmarks- -some well known while others are more obscure. Some things have changed since this book was written in 1962, which in this new reprint are marked throughout with an (*) notation....then you can flip to the back of the book for an explanation of what's changed. Kudos to the publishers for this attention to detail. In all, a fabulous book for adults and kids alike.
