Dragonstar, leader of the dreaded Bakuganclan, started off into the woods, hoping to catch some prey. He was confident that Hawkeyes, the deputy, would keep peace in the clan. He was terribly wrong. Let us start from the beginning, when Dragonstar was announced deputy by the leader at this point, Serpentstar. Dragonstar was not called Dragonstar, but Dragonslither. Dragonslither heard his name being called by all of his clanmates, but one. Hawkeyes was jealous, he had wanted Dragonslither's job for moons. He would just have to wait. At sunrise the next day, Dragonslither went on his first and not last patrol as deputy of Bakuganclan. It was the dreaded border patrol, in which the patrolers had to walk through many types of rough terrain. Slitherstar was on her second to last life and the clan was in danger of attack so the borders were patroled frequently. The first few moons as deputy went smoothly, but Dragonslither could not say the same for the last few for the dangers were higher than a hawk in greenleaf. He, though his clan was in so much danger, could stay sane unlike many of his former clanmates. Dragonslither's own mate was consumed by the crazyness of the coming battle. The battle came and went quickly, to the remaning cats' relief, but Slitherstar lost her last lives on the battlefeild. Once Dragonstar came back from the forest to his clan, he was astonised. Surprised. Unbelieving. The clan had rebelled him as they chanted "Hawkstar! Hawkstar! Dragonstar shall die!". What had befallen the once proud clan? Suddenly the answer hit him in the face, Hawkeyes! His loyal deputy? That could not be right. But why was the clan shouting Hawkstar? This could only mean one thing, battle it out with his former ally. As Dragonstar entered the battle ring formed by cats Hawkeyes snarled. "Oh petty Dragonstar. I see you have returned. But oh well. The clan wants me as a leader. Not a soft kittiepet!" Dragonstar was shocked as can be. "Hawkeyes! I trusted you!" The brave leader said. Hawkeyes growled. "I was the rightful leader after all Dragonstar! I am not Hawkeyes, call me be my true name! Hawkstar!" The clan then chanted once more the taunting song of "Hawkstar! Hawkstar! Dragonstar shall die!" Hawkeyes then fired back at Dragonstar. "What do you want, your choice or the clan's choice? Do you want to make yourself or the clan happy? Think about it." Dragonstar thought for a moment. He then chose to make the clan happy. "I'll leave." Dragonstar grumbled shooting a nasty look at the clan's loyal medicine cat, Snakefang. Even Snakefang looked happy with Dragonstar's decision. She gave the leaving leader a wink. Dragonstar soon knew that Snakefang looked pleased when he left because she did not want him to get in a fight that he was certainlt going to lose. He learned this from Snakefang, herself. They had nightly meetings, discussing how to get rid of Hawkeyes, now known as Hawkstar. The future looked bright for Dragonstar until... continued in the next book tomorrow. Any relations to cats living or dead is entirly coincidincal. Kiyanpaw of Horseclan.
