Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The familiar rhyme is presented with toddlers costumed to fit the roles. A boy and his stuffed pigs are shown on the cover, but of course we know that the game is played with the toes. In this rhyme the illustrations offer a demonstration of each toe and what it represents. For example the big toe is the little piggy that goes to market while the middle toe/piggy had roast meat and the poor next one had none. The simple illustrations on crisp white pages are quite appealing and depict boys and girls as well as different ethnicities. The book is part of a series that includes tittles such as Hey Diddle Diddle! and Wee Willie Winkie. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
