This Same Jesus: The Oneness Proclamation of The Risen Lord
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of Christian faith, the decisive event that distinguishes the gospel from every other message. From the earliest apostolic preaching to the systematic theologies of later centuries, the confession that "Christ is risen" has defined the church's life, doctrine, and mission. This work is born out of a desire to explore that confession in its fullest depth—not only as a historical claim, but also as a theological center, a doctrinal foundation, and a practical guide for Christian living.
In these pages, I have sought to approach the resurrection with both reverence and rigor. My guiding principle has been Sola Scriptura: the conviction that Scripture is the final authority for doctrine and practice. Yet, because the church has always wrestled with the meaning of Easter, I have also engaged with the voices of history, from the early fathers to modern theologians, from Trinitarian adherents to Oneness Pentecostal scholars. My aim has not been to flatten these perspectives into a single view, but to allow them to stand in conversation, sharpening and clarifying one another in order to bring into the light the true nature of the Oneness of God.
The scope of this project is intentionally broad. The resurrection is considered through its biblical foundations, its historical credibility, its doctrinal significance, and its ethical and pastoral implications. Chapters move from exegesis to theology, from the witness of the apostles to the insights of contemporary scholarship, from doctrinal debates to practical application. In doing so, I have sought to keep the work accessible to pastors, students, and thoughtful lay believers, while also grounding it in careful scholarship.
This book is not written as a detached academic exercise, but as an offering to the church. My hope is that it will deepen faith in Christ, strengthen confidence in the truth of his resurrection, and inspire a life lived in the power of the Spirit. If it succeeds in encouraging even one believer to live more fully in the joy and hope of Easter, it will have accomplished its purpose.
To all who read these pages, may the risen Lord make himself known in the breaking of bread, in the opening of the Scriptures, and in the life of the Spirit.

About the Author

Dr. Clayton R. Hall Jr., DMin. is a devoted Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal pastor, teacher, author, and counselor who has served in ministry since 1985. He was born in Sanford, Florida, and grew up in Pontotoc, Mississippi and Portland, Oregon, where he graduated from high school. He then attended Bible college at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, and later earned both his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Theology/Christian Counseling, graduating summa cum laude, from Great Commission Bible College in Carl Junction, Missouri.

Dr. Hall ministered in the Seattle area for 20 years before moving with his family to Petal, Mississippi, in 2005, where he pastored faithfully until his retirement. Originally a Trinitarian, he came to the revelation of the Oneness of God through prayerful, Holy Spirit–guided study of Scripture and the history of the early church. His studies revealed that the doctrine of the Trinity was influenced by Greek philosophy and solidified under Emperor Constantine, a polytheist whose agenda was political unity rather than biblical truth.

Although retired from active pastoral ministry due to Parkinson’s disease, Dr. Hall continues to teach the Bible online, proclaiming the apostolic message of the risen Lord Jesus Christ — the one true God manifest in flesh. He and his wife have been married for over 38 years and are blessed with three grown children and four grandchildren. His life and ministry remain a testimony of God’s sustaining grace, the power of the Holy Ghost, and the transforming revelation of Jesus’ name.
