Thomas Merton was a prolific Catholic writer who covered a broad range of subjects with a variety of approaches. This compilation includes large enough chunks of some of those works so the reader can gain a perspective of this amazing man and his writings. I was constantly finding references to Thomas Merton in other books, and I found this book to be a useful introduction to his works. It was an excellent starting place.
