This book tells the reader how to get started in a health fitness program, suggestions for setting goals, how to chart your course, how to encourage yourself, and how to record your physical, mental, spiritual, and nutritional progress.

Candice and I [Becky] first met over the telephone when I called her to discuss the possibility of working together on a fitness video. Over the next year and a half, as we worked on Step Into Fitness, we discovered that we had a lot in common as wives and moms who work outside the home as writers and motivators. As our friendship grew, we often shared our struggles to lead that elusive balanced life. The more we talked about these issues, the more we realized that many people were looking for: a healthy lifestyle that challenges us mentally and physically, the happiness that comes from loving your family and friends, and the hope and peace that fill your life when God is at its center. We came to realize that if all four areas — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual — were balanced, we'd be thoroughly fit! Our hope — and purpose — in writing this motivational devotional is to give you creative and practical tools that will inspire you to make significant lifestyle changes. Because we've all witnessed the failure of the "quick fix approach to change, the goal of Thoroughly Fit is to encourage you, day by day, one step at a time, to make changes that will become a permanent part of your life. Each day we have chosen a positive thought to inspire and motivate you. Next, we offer practical tips and current information in all four lifestyle areas and allow you to chart your course. Finally, we close each day's devotional with "Prayers & Passages," which gives you the opportunity to meditate on a portion of Scripture and to pray. We would also like to encourage you to check in the companion step aerobic videos, Step Into Fitness and Thoroughly Fit. Each video contains 70 minutes of fun and challenging step aerobics choreographed to well-known Christian contemporary songs. These are safe, balanced, low-impact workouts that will burn calories and body fat. Suitable for beginning through advanced-level steppers, the videos will give you a great aerobic, leg, and abdominal workout, as well as condition your upper back. The results? You'll not only trim your fat and improve your cardiovascular system and your muscle tone — but you'll also be one step closer to achieving the physical goals you have set for yourself.

Author Biography: Becky Tirabassi is a full-time motiavtional speaker and an ACE certified aerobics instructor. She has produced an award-winning step aerobic video, Step Into Fitness. Her six books include Wild Things Happen When I Pray and Let Prayer Change Your Life.
