Overview

Those Brilliant Bastards is a fictitious account of the non-fictitious experience of being black in America. The novel explores mass incarceration, mental illness and other chaos that plague the black community. Dante finds himself mixed up in a scenario that could land him back in prison. He has been warned by his father to steer clear and avoid repeating the cycle of violence, crime and incarceration, but will he escape? Or will he become another statistic?
