Overview

Thoughts Out of Season is primarily an adventure and romantic investigation into what it means to be a rugged and unsatisfied young writer in modern America. It is actually just what the title suggests—the distancing of thoughts from those that do not adhere to the modern climate in America which have helped establish a mood of social boredom, alienation and a basic distancing of ourselves from life. These are all thoughts that affect the poet; thoughts of love, nature, questioning, flight and revolt.

Thoughts Out of Season is a book that distinctly comes from the American tradition of writers. From such writers as Kerouac and Henry Miller to Thoreau, Twain and Whitman, Thoughts Out of Season is a book which seeks to get back to the literary roots which make American writers distinct in their search for beauty and wisdom. The sharp contrast of the joyous writer who desires to become an artist is almost diametrically opposed to the spirit which pervades a defeated America. In the American tradition of writing, we could easily define this as a book searching to get back to those elements of life that give us our supreme joys.

Thoughts Out of Season is a book where staring into the night sky can inspire an incredulous journey.

A profound journey into the mind!

Mark Pucci has succeeded in publishing a manifesto that sums up the beliefs of not only the author, but a generation of anti-authoritative, profanity-spewing, Marlboro smoking degenerates. And I mean degenerate in the most socially polite way. Pucci's profound journey into the senses made me laugh hysterically, cry like a newborn, and, at times, curse like a Turkish nun. While I don't agree with every comment made by Mr. Pucci, I enjoy the way he shuns commercialism, and gives his readers a full frontal assualt on good taste. Whoever dislikes this tale should be taken outside and flogged, for they are all just lemmings, forever doomed to bask in the shallow waters of pure capitalism..

    Pucci's Work Shines!

A refreshing vacation from stale literature! Pucci's style and attention to detail involve the reader completely. His wit and knowledge of literature are truely remarkable. I anxiously await future work from this author!!

    A TRUE WORK OF ART!

Thoughts is Mark Pucci at his best. His keen sense of weaving a gripping story together with finely crafted characters is refreshing in the hodgepodge of lackluster bestsellers.

    A script without reason ...

The characters are founded on a passionate drive for a lower level of mediocrity; Although they strive to emerge and appear as individuals with destiny, to be recognized for their personal perceptions of greatness.
