    A surprise!

The three stories packaged together in this offering were written early in the 20th century and they are genuine gems. Each stands on its own merit. We ordered these because my husband and are are voracious readers, had read eleven books in ten days, and had spent a small fortune on ebooks. My husband found this offering and downloaded it since it was reasonaby priced and rather lengthy. The first of the group is superb literature, the style is somewhat Sherlock Holmesish, and the adventures which appeal to someone who likes maritime adventure. The second in the series is a good mix of intgrigue and romance with a very satisfactory resolution, and my personal favorite. The third is a good yarn, a couple of implausible romances that work Ok in a turn of the century setting, altogether an interesting plot. And of course, these stories were written in a period when happy endings were the norm.
