Overview

One day can change your life forever. Three days can transform a painful past into a beautiful tomorrow . . .

Once, Sam Perry had it all. A loving marriage, an amazing job she adored as a preschool teacher, and a beautiful home. She was safe, happy, and secure.

Then the unthinkable happened . . .

Watching his once-carefree wife withdraw into herself was almost more than Brian Perry could handle. The only thing that kept him going was knowing that he loved her more than life itself. Moving her out of New York to Chandlerville, a small, quiet suburb of Atlanta, felt right. Anything to get her away from the memories of the buildings, and her world, crashing around her.

Now, two sons and many years later, Sam cherishes the new life on Mimosa Lane that Brian built for them.

Until lightning strikes twice . . .

This time, Brian will need their entire community to help him win his wife back.

“If you love deeply emotional stories, you must read this one! Gripping and powerful and a simply superb read.” – Jane Porter, nationally bestselling author of The Good Woman and The Good Daughter

I liked this installment of the Mimosa Lane series, but not as much as I liked the first book "Christmas on Mimosa Lane". I think the reason was that I didn't understand the main character and why, after more than ten years, she was still hiding from life.

I cannot even imagine what it must have been like to be caught up in the direct aftermath of the terror attacks on 9/11 as Sam was. Tragic circumstances, to be sure, but she wasn't likeable as a heroine.

Based on the "coming attractions" in the back of the book, I do look forward to the next installment.

A touching story of family, friends, and a community pulling together after a terrible tragedy. I loved reading Sam and Brian's story, they are such strong characters. You laugh with them and cry with them, they are so well developed that you feel like you are in the story with them. It was nice to read about Mallory, Pete, and Polly again (from Christmas on Mimosa Lane) and to catch up on their lives. As for Mimosa Lane, what a beautiful place to live surrounded by amazing people with their own stories of tragedy, love, loss and picking up the pieces and putting them back together. I would highly recommend this book. I am looking forward to meeting more neighbors on Mimosa Lane!
