Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Based on the principles outlined in Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, authors and veteran financial officers Lechter and Reid craft an engaging allegory to illustrate Hill's principals of success. Readers follow everyman Greg as he pursues happiness and success with the help of fictional guru Jonathan Buckland, who arranges a series of meetings and experiences which ultimately guide readers to better understand the mindset which leads to success. Like Hill, Lechter and Reid believe that, though "there are many things you cannot control," the factors critical to success are within an individuals' control: namely, "your mind and your attitude." As such, each short, story-driven chapter includes quotes from Hill and other luminous successes, while taking Greg point-by-point through acquiring knowledge (about vision, opportunity, taking action, following through and more), and applying it. Readers won't ever get bored with Lechter and Reid's brisk text, and it's ameliorated by plenty of review. Big ideas are developed artfully by revisiting and building upon previously introduced concepts. This volume should interest both sophisticated and novice followers of Napoleon Hill, or anyone looking for a practical take on the power of a positive outlook

"Three Feet From Gold is an extraordinary work of art displaying the challenges and struggles of people in real life situations. A continuation of the brilliant work of Napoleon Hill's legendary classic Think and Grow Rich, Greg S. Reid and Sharon L. Lechter embrace the compelling life changing stories of ordinary people discovering their passions, talents, and dreams. Truly they understand the meaning of believing in themselves by never giving up and learning to become highly successful individuals. Isn't it true that deep down we would all like to have a career doing what we love to do? What's your passion? This heartfelt genuine book will guide you to finding that answer. Truly inspired by an amazing spirit Napoleon Hill who has left his mark on humanity that can never be erased! Never Let Go of your faith." Every person goes through trials and tribulations during the course of their life. This book helps give you a different approach and positive spin on dealing with whatever might come about in your life. I couldn't put the book down!!!

Napoleon Hill taught us long ago that sharing experiences of 'others' is one of the more effective ways to get your lesson to be accepted. This story does just that by following the growth of a rough lump of coal of a man on his journey to becoming a diamond through the process of heat and pressure. I highly recommend this book to anyone that's willing to strive to be better, especially those people that have a hard time swallowing some of the dry lessons that are common in so many self-development books today.

"Let's face it - pursuing a lifelong dream can be daunting, challenging and down right exhausting. No matter how determined and persistent you may be, there comes a point when you question the journey and are met face to face with the prospect of throwing in the towel. This fabulous book gives you the encouragement you need to continue to walk through your fears and disappointments, while keeping you on the right track. This book guides you back on your path reminding you that challenges are merely tests of your will. So hold fast to your dreams, visualize the end result, believe in yourself, and keep moving in the direction of that dream! Your success is only 3 feet away!"

GET THINK AND GROW RICH TOO it is one of the VERY FEW books that promises to help you determine Who you want to become? What it is you want to do? When it's going to happen? Why THE MISSION IS POSSIBLE? And how you're going to attain it? All through the aid and application of the "unknown and unused knowledge and power" they termed the "Carnegie Secret." 1. Persistence and Perseverance - not my greatest strengths! I picked up this book because it's title and cover intrigued me. Little did I know that it would be hold such impact, but in a subtle way. In general, I have a lot of projects, plans and dreams. Many are in motion at the same time. I sometimes stop working on them when the thrill of beginning something new wears off! This book reminded me (and continues to remind me) that the next big step toward achieving my goal may be just around the corner. The book is a parable of a fellow, Doug, who mistakenly takes the jacket of a very successful business person. At first, he is smug about his good fortune and he has no plans to return it. Then he figures out that he can meet this mogul, if he brings it back. The rich guy takes to Doug and gives him an assignment. Ok, this part is pretty hokey, but from there the book provides motivation, encouragement and tips to 'stick with it'. The reader follows Doug through a lot of opportunities and some low points as well. Doug's poor quality personal life also enters as a background storyline. As Doug discovers and pursues his dream, new opportunities arise. The reader learns along with Doug. The book is based upon Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. In fact, it is the same message just brought into today's genre. Although parts of the book were a bit 'unbelievable', the message is clear and resonated well with me. If you tend to 'throw in the towel' whether out of boredom or frustration, take a couple of hours and read this book. There are lots of quotes to lift you up and remind you that you may only be "Three Feet from Gold" when you quit. So don't do it. Stay the course and see it through. You'll feel fulfilled and gratified when you do. I did!

This really is the most addictive book that I have read for a long time. I read this over the course of 2 evenings. Clearly written, and inspiring lessons from the author's journey, just make this something that I am ready to read again and again. How many of us can say that we probably missed out on something wonderful by stopping just those 3 feet too soon? I am guilty of this and this spurred me on to not let this happen again.
