Meet the Author

Tom was born in Seymour, Texas, the area of the Craddock Redbeds, and where the fossil of an amphibian/reptile of the Permian Period, the Seymouria baylorentis was discovered and named after the town. He was fascinated with paleontology from early childhood. By his teenage years, he dreamed of becoming either an entomologist or paleontologist. He wanted to get a degree in Zoology, buy a 16-foot mobile home to pull behind his car, and park in a desert somewhere in the Southwest, where he could spend the rest of his years studying the animal life in its native habitat.

Life has a way of derailing most dreams. After high school, and with no money to continue his education, Tom enlisted in the Army and began a career in law enforcement. While in the Army, he was able to achieve a higher education, graduating from the Institution of Applied Science in Chicago, Illinois, in 1967, but never obtained a degree in either paleontology or entomology. He retained his interest in those subjects all his life. After a tour in Vietnam, his interest in writing was peaked, and he began a sideline in writing. He now has over thirty books in print, both nonfiction and fiction. Most of his fiction is science fiction and action adventure, but he ventures into the western and mystery thriller genres occasionally.

Now retired, Tom and his wife have settled in Seymour where he continues to write and be involved in community activities, promoting the Arts. He created a Yahoo Group, the Seymouria, for paleontology lovers to discuss ancient life, plus maintains a website for fans of his books to keep up with the latest releases.
