A rose is a rose, is a rose, is a rose. And a Stein is a Stein, is a Stein, is a Stein. This is Steins first acclaimed publication back in 1909. You must know Stein and be aware of her early "experimental prose - cubism style of writing" (as some have called this) to enjoy and appreciate - or even for some - to get through this story of three women. For all Stein Groupies, or those wanting to experience 'A Stein' - definitely worthwhile. But remember, a review, is a review, is a revew, is a review. RM / HIGRAMWas this review helpful? The style of prose is challenging, but central to the themes and structure of the stories. This is a thoughtful, thought provoking, treatment of weakness and strength, taking and giving, and the difficulty in knowing how to tell the difference. Was this review helpful?
