Overview

In the blink of an eye a family is shattered. A father struggles to cope with the pressures and responsibilities of life while dealing with the soul-searing tragedy of losing his only son. Like a handful of stones thrown in a pond, the circles of his life and memories are all interconnected to his processing his grief. His relationship with his wife, his other children, colleagues at work and even the kids he teaches are all part of his healing. Over the course of a school year we walk with a man who moves day by day trying to find peace. Although it opens with loss of life—Three Nails ends with aspiration—hope, heritage, and new life found in the simple message of Three Nails.
Micheal Maxwell steps away from his Cole Sage series to tell a story of Life, Death and an American Teacher.

This novella drew me in with its interesting characters. Tragedy strikes in different places, and this book deals with an unimaginable loss. There is enough substance to the story, not usually done is a novella. Definitely worth a read!

I am a retired teacher and spend a lot of time looking for good books to read. Three Nails, was a rare find. It brought back so many good, as well as not so good, memories of my over thirty years of teaching. I will read every book I can find of Michael Maxwell. I laughed and cried a lot. Crying is somethin I seldom do while reading a book. I started reading late at night and finished it early in the morning. Thank you Michael Maxwell. Keep up the good work. V.B. A.

This was not one of his better works. There were a lot of typos and the story was kind of dull and rambling. If you can get past the first 40% of the book then it gets a little more interesting.
