Overview

An inspiration tale about three cats and their journey to witness the first Christmas.

The old Siamese Ptolemy was alongside his master when a star of unusual brightness was seen in the heavens, indicating an event of momentous significance, and leading to a great quest. Ptolemy must watch over his frail master, so he sends three young cats to journey in his place and fulfill the prophecy: The three shall find the one.

The three are Abishag, a sturdy reliable cat who has never shirked her duty; Kezia, a beautiful young tabby, delicate, a bit vain, but of good heart; and Ira, taller and stronger than the others, with a temper. Accompanying them is a fourth traveler? the rat Asmodeus, who can hear of no glorious thing without wanting to spoil it.

Together, the unlikely band will cover many miles, and have many dangerous adventures. And finally they will come to a far land, where the star bends close to the earth over a humble stable.

This is the cutest cat story ever! It's also lovingly and reverently done with no offbeat humor like you would see on TV. A great story for kids and adults!

I loved this book. I always read 3-4 Christmas books in December and this year I enjoyed this one the most. It was clever and insightful but also warm and funny. It followed the Magi story and wove these cats into the story in a way I enjoyed. It is a good book for cat lovers but also for Christians who are going through Advent with their eyes to the birth of the Christ child. It reminds us that Christ was born for ALL!

DEFINITELY A DIFFERENT TWIST ON THE TALE OF THE THREE WISE MEN. VERY DIFFERENT AND, IN ITS OWN WAY, THOUGHT PROVOKING. "FOR MY HEART TELLS ME THAT EVEN A RAT MAY SERVE THE KING OF KINGS". I.E. GOD HAS A PLACE FOR EVERYONE. I PLAN TO KEEP THIS TO READ FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

This is a book that has all the elements of what Christmas is all about. and it's told by Three Cats. (or actually kittens when the story begins). This story will touch your heart, bring smiles to your face and tears of joy to your eyes. The authors truly understood cats and how they think and act. But to weave this into the story about Christ's birth and the Three Wise Men was amazing. This is a great gift book for receivers to place in their permanent book collection and to become a tradition and read each Christmas. My little girl just loves Ira the little warrior. This is a book for all ages, this is destined to become a classic.
