An old fashioned, delightful contemporary romance

In Grant Park, children¿s software programmer Maya Hughes comes home in a steady downpour when she notices a child soaked and waiting at her neighbor¿s home. She invites seven-year-old Taylor Whitfield to dry off and warm up in her place until her father, a surgeon, comes home. Though they met once before, Maya coaxes the child into her house with the help of her dog Hamlet and her don¿t call me a cat Horatio.
Taylor¿s father, Dr. Nick Whitfield, hurries home when he learns that his daughter¿s caretaker was hospitalized due to an accident. Nick and Maya are attracted to one another and the precocious Taylor pushes them closer to each other. However, she spent seven years failing to have a child, which resulted in her marriage ending while he fears falling in love ever since his first wife died during childbirth.
Readers who wish for an old fashioned, delightful contemporary romance need look no further than Seressia Glass¿ warm tale. Two individuals deserving of love, but almost phobic about avoiding the risk makes for a fine story especially with charming protagonists like the lead couple. Though Taylor acts too wise for her age at times, the hearts of fans will reach out to her. Fans will value this appealing novel.
Harriet Klausner

    Wishes Do Come True

I found this novel to be quite charming. This is the second novel I've read and enjoyed by Ms. Glass. I really enjoyed the heated attraction between Maya and Nick. I enjoyed the blossoming relationship Maya had with Nick's daughter Taylor. I also enjoyed the very large, diverse, loving and supportive family that Maya came from. The way her family was portrayed throughout the story made you want to be apart of it and definitely read more about them in future novels. That being said, I thought Maya's character should have been stronger when dealing with the race issue considering her family background and how she was raised. I thought she should have fought a little harder when dealing with the negative issues that popped up in their relationship. I would have thought Nick would have had more trouble coping with their racial differences considering his background and his mother's negative attitude. But other than that little set-back, I thought it was a quick, sweet, romantic fairy tale.

Pretty Good but I expected more.

Although I gave this book 3 was still hard to put down until I got to the end. I found the plot pretty interesting but the stroyline a bit weak. Never the less...I am a Seressia Glass fan and i will continue to read her books.

I enjoyed this book to a point. Well, the plot was different and very interesting. I think Glass did a nice job, but while I was reading it, I sort of didn't have that drive to go on and read more like I did in 'No commitment required'.Maybe, in the middle of the story, I kind of felt thats when it got interesting, i think. This book has it's share of grammatical errors, which do need to be fix. Hey, I'm no English major and Glass is no Sandra Kitt, but I think Glass could have done better.Inspite, of this,I would read part 2.
