Overview

This is a detailed account of Lee's captivity among the Comanches in the 1850's and his escape through the mountains back to white civilization. Lee saw his fellow captives slaughtered most horribly: he was spared only because he convinced the Indians that the Great Spirit spoke to him through his pocket watch.
