    Decent, but not great

The "Lotus Sutra" still awaits its definitive translation into English. The translation of technical terms is fairly accurate, but not precise. The fact that the majority of the technical terms are not given in Sanskrit at all makes this particularly problematic. This is definitely better than the translation of Gene Reeves (who takes too many liberties with the text), but not quite as useful as that of the Leon Hurvitz, which does provide the original Sanskrit for key technical terms and phrases. The inclusion of the "Sutra of Innumerable means" and "Sutra of Meditation on the Bodhisattva Universal Virtue" does add value. The binding and paper are quite good.

Decent but not the best translation

This translation is o.k. - it's nice that it includes the two ancillary sutras, but the translation diverges from the orignal text at some points and uses words that sometimes don't import the full meaning.
