The thrilling conclusion to Crown of Lies from New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters

Since my life changed for the second time and not necessarily for the better. Two years since I traded prison bars for streets and hunted a runaway who I’d met in an alley.

The thrilling conclusion to Crown of Lies from New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters

Since my life changed for the second time and not necessarily for the better. Two years since I traded prison bars for streets and hunted a runaway who I’d met in an alley.

Since I forgot how to lie, woke to fists, and chased after the girl who’d been stolen from me.

To save her, rescue her, keep my lies intact. She looks at me full of hate. I look at her full of confession.

For our relationship to switch from mutual dislike to floundering with unknowns. I’ve hurt her. Now, she’s hurt me. I guess we’re even.

For her to listen, to see, to finally know who I am. The answer comes with hardship. The answer isn’t what she wants to hear.

For me to walk out the door.

For it all to be over.

I really did love the characters of Penn and Elle and am sad to see them go. However, this book was not nearly as good as the first one. Felt very repetitive and rushed. But you have to read it as a follow up to Queen of thrones or you won't know if he's Nameless or not! Well played by the author

I've yet to find a story from Pepper that I didn't love wholeheartedly. Her characters are phenomenal and her writing is brilliant. It was interesting to see a male role from her that was not above the law but victorious nonetheless. I hope she writes a novella at some point and gives us just a little bit more... I love my dark and twisty but these two had a chemistry that shined bright.

Throne of Truth is the conclusion to the Truth and Lies Duet that I've been dying to read since finishing Crown of Lies. This book picks right up where Crown of Lies ended as Elle has been kidnapped by her crazy childhood friend, Greg, and Penn is on the hunt to find her. In Throne of Truth we discover who Penn really is, which was a huge mystery in CoL. Is he Elle's long lost love from that fateful night in the park or is he a clever and manipulative thief toying with her for dastardly reasons? I can't tell, you just have to read ToT to find out! I will say that I enjoyed ToT and it's many twists and turns. It revealed all there was to Penn and Elle and although I was satisfied with the ending, I was a bit disappointed in where the author decided to take the story in between. There was a lot of time where Penn and Elle were apart and that was frustrating to me as a reader. I understand the "why" behind it, but I just wanted them to be together more instead of apart. That was difficult for me. With that being said, Crown of Lies and Throne of Truth are a MUST READ! Pepper Winters is an amazing author who weaves a beautiful story full of love, hope, redemption, complexity and passion. She is one author that I always read and always enjoy. Great job! ARC kindly provided to me by author, but my review is voluntary and my opinion honest.

I loved this conclusion of the Thrones of Truth will set you free. After the revelations at the end of Crown of Lies, how would it all unfold for Elle and Penn. Well sometimes the truth is hard to stomach as sometimes they hurt more than lies, so how will Elle feel, would it make her realise the truths she might have always known. Will Penn be true,to not only Elle, but himself too. Like with all Pepper Winter books you get a strong thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat as you seek the answers of every suspense filled emotional moment. You are again captivated by Elle and Penn's story as they seek truths in lies and justice. The is beyond love, it's fate and sometimes you have to trust others to help set you and your feelings free.

The Truth and Lies Duet is supremely written and had me on the edge of my seat. From the very first page of Crown of Lies (book 1) until the very last page of Throne of Truth (book 2), Pepper Winters captivates her readers. Raw, edgy, and unpredictable, Ms. Winters weaves a story of suspense, mystery, abuse, secrets, lies, angst, heartbreak, obstacles, betrayal, deceit, forgiveness, over whelming emotions, a great plot-line, and a hero and heroine that you can empathize with. This book stays with you long after you've finished reading it. I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.
