Through Blood and Fire at Gettysburg; General Joshua L. Chamberlain and the 20th Maine based on 0 ratings. 5 reviews.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book written by Joshua Chamberlain. He describes the battle in detail and gives the reader an inside look at this famous battle and it was probably not his intention but the reader gets to see the courage and self sacrifice it took to withstand the unrelenting attacks of the Confederate Army and the awesome courage of the men of Lee's Army. A must read for any Civil War Buff, North or South.
Written original as a magazine article many years after the war, it is a very detailed look at the Twentieth Maine's fight for Little Round Top from Chamberlain's point of view. It is easy to read and a must have for any Chamberlain fan.
