This was an awesome read I couldn't put it down. I even went on nook to buy your second one. What is so scarey is this is not as far out as it may seem.

Well done story that links together alot of concerns many of us have and adds a bit of detail we never thought of. I would love to see a longer novel by this author.

This could happen. The journey of the central characters gave this reader pause for thought about what to do if faced with a predicament of this nature.

This is this the best book I have read in a long time. Telling all my nook buddies if you nevet read another book, read this one. You will not regret it. Kyle Pratt is my new favorite author and would love  to read some more books by him, especially if it's a continuation of this story.

As a 20 year Army officer (retired), I can attest to the plausability of this scenario, and the realism of the aftermath. Kyle has done a great job presenting this in a fast-paced novel with believable characters...all in an easy read. All-in-all, a great job (for a Navy man)!!

The opening chapter was explosive (literally and figuratively) and set the tone for the rest of the novel. Through Many Fires is a post-apocalyptic thriller that is fast-paced and action packed. Although there were some misspelled words, the story was so captivating that it didn't detract from the overall flow and the characters were well developed. I was sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time I read this novel. Hopefully the next installment in this series, A Time to Endure, will focus more on the implied terrorist affiliations and won't disappoint.

Mr. Pratt provides an excellent novel with believable characters that you can identify with as well as a well written and absorbing plot. I think this author deserves to be watched as he appears to be going places with his writing!

Like others who have reviewed this book, I find it highly plausible. Mr. Pratt has fairly well captured the straits we would find ourselves in should something of this nature actually occur (which, I believe, is very conceivable - perhaps even probable). It is a very good read and I recommend it; if for no other reason that it might make one think about actually planning for a disaster of this sort. Don't read this and dismiss it as pure fiction - it could all too easily become fact.

Excellent book! Frightening because this could happen in the United States. I think this story is a logical depiction of what would happen if our society collapses for any reason. The characters are real, the situations are believable, and for that reason, scary. I noticed a few misspellings and grammer problems but nothing that detracted from my enjoyment of the story. I read this in one day. Hard to put down. Starting the second book now but had to write a review to encourage you to read this book.

A great read of what might happen after nuclear bombs go off in major cities of the United States. The plot and characters are believable and the fast paced action not only draws you in but brings out questions as to how our government would handle the recovery process. This book will appeal to many readers of dystopian, military and suspense. It's going on my favorites list and I'll be first in line to buy book two.
