At 10,000 words, you can easily read this in one sitting, especially with the main character's distinct voice. The conceits used in the story have all been done before, but it was a good combination, not just cliches.
If you're looking for 99 cents worth of good, old-fashioned horror, this is it.

Overview
Josh wakes up one morning to find his ten-year-old brother filling in a grave in the backyard. From there, the day just gets worse.THROUGH THE GUTS OF A BEGGAR contains the original 10,000-word novelette, a 3,000-word alternate ending, and two bonus short stories of pulpy horror goodness.
