Overview

Luti-Kriss' SolidState debut finds the band displaying their knack for moody metalcore with blistering intensity and passionate lyrics. Throwing Myself literally does just that, it throws it's monstrous wall of chaotic hardcore at the listener, and leaves quite an impact. Josh's vocals are relentless with furious passion and hatred that is somehow twisted into one coherent ball of emotion that is sure to leave an impression on the listener long after the album finishes. The slight melodic undertones help define the group's sound, yet are mainly kept buried and barely distinguishable unless one specifically listens for these moments. Throwing Myself is an album that starts off a bit choppy yet as the album progresses the quality of the songs only gets better, building to a mighty crescendo on "Catharsis," and then fading off with crushing force. Zao's Jesse Smith helped the group put together their wicked vision, and Andre Wahl has done some impressive production, as the album never falters from bludgeoning the listener, yet at times Luti-Kriss tend to lose themselves in their music. Throwing Myself is an impressive full length debut from a band that certainly shows massive potential, and has some thoroughly memorable moments any new school hardcore fan could embrace.
