I was dissapointed when I read the sample of the book was a paragraph. If you want people to buy a $10 book then you need more in the sample.

This series remains exciting and excellent even on the 5th book. I'm definitely looking forward to the next two coming out and will be preordering the one for June. I LOVE THIS SERIES!

“THROWN BY A CURVE is one of those books that leaves you with a happy feeling when you turn the last page.” ~Under the Covers
I have come to expect the focus of a PLAY BY PLAY story to be on the sexy, THROWN BY A CURVE switched up the roles and it became more about the sweet story.
Garrett Scott plays for the same baseball team as Gavin Riley. Except he’s not playing right now, due to an injury that has left his throwing arm needing some physical therapy if he hopes to get back on the mound. He’s His cocky, know-it-all, stubborn attitude is not helping his recovery. At least not with his current team of therapists. That is until he decides to leave his recovery in the hands of the newest member of the team, and Gavin’s cousin, Alicia Riley.
Alicia is just what Garrett needs, both for his physical recovery and to soften his tough guy exterior and be happy. She is an understated heroine compared to some of the previous ones in this series, but that doesn’t make her less strong. But she’s also fun to be around. The type of girl you just can’t help but like and want to be friends with.
Garrett and Alicia worked together all the time in his recovery, but even though they spent a lot of time together, they didn’t get together right away. That was really the only way the story could go, the focus had to be on his recovery and on them really getting to know each other. Otherwise, we might’ve ended up with a hot fling. They really had the time to develop feelings for each other, after they got to know each other well.
Just like Garrett, who is sexy as hell, we are introduced to another group of sexy athletes. Now that the Riley family in dwindling, fresh blood is introduced to keep this series going. All I can tell you is, I’m ready to read about Garrett’s college buddies.
The conflict in this book was perfect and real, the romance was sweet, the hero was drool worthy. THROWN BY A CURVE is one of those books that leaves you with a happy feeling when you turn the last page. And then the only thing you can feel is impatient for the next one to come out already!
“He might be pretty on the outside, but she had thoughts of running for the duct tape to slap over his mouth whenever he showed up for therapy.”
“There’s s lot you don’t know about me, Miss Riley.”
“If the person you fall in love with is worth it, you’ll move mountains to make it work.”

I always, always, ALWAYS, read a sample before purchasing a book. The sample for this one is 3 sentences. I'm not happy with this at all.
I won't downgrade the rating, because it may not be the author's fault, but I won't potentially waste money for 3 sentences.

## I'm happy to say, I loved this story. Alicia was the perfect heroine. Strong, capable, honest and sassy. I adored her. There's nothing I hate more than a needy heroine. The hero was amazing as well. Their chemistry was sizzling and their easy friendship refreshing. I love that the entire book wasn't filled with fighting like most are. There is conflict but not excessively so. The happy times just made me smile. Whenever I'm having bad luck in the book department, I can always count on Jaci Burton to come through with a winner. As always, nice job Ms. Burton. Looking forward to Gray's story in June.

I love the play by play series.
The guys are all hot , sweaty sports Gods. The covers are not to bad either!! ( wink wink)
The ladies they end up with are all strong willed and know how to handle their men even though things tend to get a tad emotional. Every book is really all about the love of the game, family and the man or woman of your heart.
That being said. Garrett and Alicia's story with the whole sports injury/ physical therapist storyline really i'd have to say is my favorite. I was biting my nails to the quick reading the pages of this book. Wondering weither Garrett would mess up his relationsip with Alicia or if she would be to strong and indepedant to let loose and let a relationship happen between them .
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I hear it's about Grey, one of Garrett's friends and he's a race car driver.

Another winner in my book. I can immerse myself in this series and never come out of it. Each book contains characters that you love and definietly want to get to know better. Jaci Burton can write a patent on Hot Sexy Males. She gets them right everytime. The character Garrett Scott is no different. I loved out the story started from page 1. Alicia Riley was definitely Garrett's match and her tell it like it is attitude did not disappoint.
According to other reviews, this story was not one of Jaci's best, but for me it was perfect. I was into the story and finished it in one sitting. I read for the escapism from reality, and this series provides the perfect opportunity. I am an avid fan of sports-romance.. and in my opinion, Jaci Burton is one of the few authors who gets it right!

My Rating: 4 out of 5 *
Hotness Rating: 4 out of 5 <3
Things are rolling along in the world of sports. This time we have a physical therapist and a baseball star. Working together, getting all hot and sweaty, things are bound to heat up. Fast.
Garrett was a dedicated player, but his lack of drive to listen to his therapists and his ever-increasing urge to get back on the field has stalled him longer than he likes. He thinks he knows best and can usually get away with it. But then Alicia catches his attention when she calls him out and he decides he wants her to take over his therapy. At first he tried to get away with his usual stunts, but Alicia’s determination and—let’s face it—attractiveness quickly pulls him back in line. He chases her hard, intrigued by her subtle beauty and fiery personality and quickly becomes trapped by her. He was passionate and knew how to handle women. He was confident, but not overly so. With the right touch, he became a loyal and amazing lover. Although he had his flaws, he learned…and more than made up for them in the end.
Alicia was a quiet and observant woman with therapeutic ideas that differed from the norm. But when pushed the wrong way, she becomes a firecracker that might need to learn when to explode and when to fizzle out. She refused to let Garrett’s too-laid-back ways to interfere with her recovery plan and she proved it when she hunted him down or berated him into obedience. Outside of work, she was a very fun and easygoing person. She was very sensual and often forgot just how alluring she was. At first she denied Garrett hard, but like all red-blooded woman, she was unable to resist for long. Then things got hot and heavy fast, and she became the woman she had long hidden away. She was reasonable when she needed to be, and ruled by her emotions when she could be. She hooked Garrett without either of them realizing it, and captured the heart of an incredible man.
I really liked how this story played out. Neither character was over the top, but both were strong enough that their push-and-pull tied them up in wonderfully sexual knots. The way they slowly captured each other was a beautiful dance of giving in and resistance that amped up the pleasure and drew me in. I thoroughly enjoyed this journey in what continues to be a great contemporary series.

Alicia just had to open her big mouth and tell the St. Louis Rivers’ star pitcher that he needs to get his head out of his ass and focus harder on his physical therapy if he wants to pitch again. She knows she’s going to get the ax for speaking up but is completely surprised when Garrett wants her, and only her, to take over his PT.
Garrett thinks she’s hot and likes her take-no-prisoners attitude but soon realizes Alicia means business and makes him work hard, facing his physical and mental roadblocks inhibiting his recovery.
It’s only a matter of time before the sexual tension between Alicia and Garrett is unbearable and one night of passion threatens to destroy all the progress they’ve made. Will Garrett ever get back on the mound and start for the team or will his dreams, and his heart, be lost for good?
I enjoyed the story. I loved Alicia’s sass and how she kicked Garrett’s ass through the whole book. Of course, when you have a testosterone-driven professional athlete and a massive ego, men end up saying and doing stupid things that usually jeopardize relationships with the women they love. Well, it’s true in this case anyway. Luckily Garrett gets it together and is able to win Alicia’s love and get his job back with the team.
