After reading this book all i can say is Oh My God. I checked this book up thinking it would be an easy read at best...turned out its one of the best books ive read this year. What got me is that this could be anyone's story. The twist and turns kept me up to see how this story would end and one of the best things about it is i don't have to wait for a sequel to come out. I really enjoyed this book and will probably purchase anything else this author has written. This is a must read.

Took me a while to get into the book because the beginning seemed a little slow to me but after i got past that it was a great read with such a crazy ending!! Good story line that really makes you think what happens to some black men in real life!!

What a great read. Gritty, poignant and eye opening. I don't know where she finds these story and people from but she gives us a birdseye view into the life of chance and the people around him. I don't give the details on the story, but i will say that this is a book worth reading and enjoying more than once. Thanks Ms. williams on a job well done.

After being charged for a murder that he didn’t commit, Chance felt his whole world was coming to an end. He had been sentenced to life in prison, his mom was trying to keep it together and his girl had completely abandoned him. I felt as if I knew Chance. The entire time I read his story I was shaking my head because his story was familiar. I felt for Chance trying to survive in jail and understand that it is a totally different world than the outside. The abuse and torment he received was true to life, but hard to swallow. Despite his troubles, things began to come together for Chance. The friendship that blossomed between him and Deyja was a Godsend. This book is fictional but it has an underlying truth. It’s a harsh look at a reality that many of us choose not to deal with. Unlike many though, for Chance it was eventually a happy ending. That’s always a good thing.

I loved this book although there were sad moments. Williams did a wonderful job piecing this story together. I read this book rather quickly bc I anticipated what would happen next. This novel truly kept my interest piqued and I was quite surprised at the outcome of the whole situation.

Karen Williams did a great job with this book. Chance's story had me glued from page one to the end.All sorts of emotions ran through my body. It was really sad some of the things Chance had to endure in his life. Fortunately, with Chance keeping his head up he made it through. I really recommend for those who haven't read it to pick it up its a great book.
