Overview

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are a good example of a group that has become little more than a brand name as its various members devote more of their time to solo projects. Thug World Order is only their fourth proper album in seven years, although many solo albums and recordings by other configurations have emerged during the period. By now, however, every album by the group seems like a reunion effort, their last one being dubbed BTNHResurrection, while, on this album, one of the members mutters, "I ain't gonna say we back, 'cause we never left...." The group's musical approach hasn't changed much, its raps offset by vocal harmonies and its musical beds anchored by samples as surprising as Phil Collins' "Take Me Home." Lyrically, their concerns are also much the same, extending from boasting and reflections on life in the 'hood to complaints about low-quality drugs ("Bad Weed Blues") and the duplicitousness of women with whom they have had sex ("Not My Baby").

Editorial Reviews

Vibe - Dimitri Ehrlich
The album is full of surprisingly effective musical choices, such as the enormously un-hip Phil Collins sample on "Home." 1/2

Not only are bone thugs amazing, but the cd is incredible. I've been telling my friends for the past 4 months to get the cd when it comes out. They all heard the cd, and they love it. Now they love Bone Thugs N Harmony almost as much as I do!!

bones best album as of late but i think they can do better. the best song on the album is bone, bone, bone. it's a good album but not like their old stuff, east 1999 eternal, creepin on a come up, and the best double album yet the art of war.

Guys and Gurls, bone thugs is back and better than ever with the Thug World Order cd, it is tight because it isn't anything like their old music but they haven't changed, they just done got older and smarter and rapping about real real things in the world, like, What about Us, and Not My Baby, and then like Krayzie Say, "listen to what every rapper out there "something" who that came from? talking bout bone fell off, say what, they buss just like us." So my boy saying how could they fall off when everybody is using a style like bone style, but when bone do their suff it's weak but everybody else can do it, feel me and him. So my boys ain't gone nowhere they just had to get some stuff together, and they are still being featured on songs, and i think i like this cd better then all the rest because it think it is? well i just like it a lot, yall gotta go check this out, it's tight, from the intro till the conversation, like they say, they going all da way, holla 3
