I've ALREADY Read It - BETTER Than the First!

Yes, yes...I know what you're thinking: How can she have read this already? The book doesn't even come out until June!

Just a little back story, Colleen Houck originally self-published the first two novels of the series a few years ago (late 2009) with a different publisher. The books had an incredibly small printing (around 500 copies, I believe). When Sterling Publishing decided to branch of into the YA genre, someone within the company had read Tiger's Curse and Tiger's Quest already and decided that they wanted the Tiger Saga to be their debut YA series. So they talked to Colleen and she switched publishers. All the old copies of the books were removed of Amazon and the Kindle store. SO...anyone who was able to buy it/download it before it was removed last year, was able to read them. So technically, they already were released, now they're being re-released.

    Review
This book was SO much better than Colleen's first attempt. In the first book, I didn't feel so connected to the story and could go long periods without reading it. With Tiger's Curse (TC) I was captivated from the first few chapters. This book really develops Kelsey's character and her relationship with Ren. Other characters are brought into the forefront, such as Kishan, and you see Kelsey interact a lot more with him. There is a great juxtaposition between the two brothers that really makes the story interesting. Kelsey goes on another adventure in India, which is jam packed with excitement, twists and turns and romance. The worst part of the book is the incredible CLIFF HANGER at the end. Houck leaves you screaming for more.

The worst part for me is that I couldn't be patient and wait till June to read TC and now have to wait till November to read book 3. Tiger's Curse is the book that completely got me hooked into this series. It's my favorite so far and can't wait to read it again!

If you loved Tiger's Curse, be ready to have your socks blown off!

Like many of you, I absolutely loved Tiger's Curse. So when I had the opportunity to pick up Tiger's Quest, I did not hesitate. This book exceeded all of the expectations I had from reading Tiger's Curse. This book may be twice as good as the first. I know, how is that even possible? Well, for one, the plot thickens. I won't give too much away, but as you can guess from the cover, the other tiger is involved...and two tigers are better than one. The characters are well-developed, and there are some unexpected surprises where Ren's annoying, smug brother are concerned. The adventure is taken to a whole new level as well. Now that Kelsey, Mr. Kadam, and the tigers have endangered their lives while retrieving the Golden Fruit, they are much more well-prepared for the next step of their quest. And they need all the help they can get for this one! Finally, let's not forget about the romance. Again, I won't give too much away, but the newly developed relationships in the book will make your heart race.

If you loved Tiger's Curse, you absolutely must pick up the sequel. And if you haven't read Tiger's Curse, what are you waiting for? You won't be disappointed!

    better than twilight

Although there it is a love story it doesn't dominate the book. There's action, twist and turns to the plot. I loved that it's not perdicatable. I couldn't put it down!!! I can't wait for the third book.

    Compelling!

TIGER'S QUEST is compelling and interesting and surpassed my expectations. It is a perfect follow-up to Tiger's Curse. I appreciated and learned from the myths and theology of the Asian background and the excellent writing worked magic into the flowing and well-crafted storyline. Kelsey goes back to Oregon to give Ren a chance to experience life without holding him back. She tries to date other guys, Li being the main guy, but after a few months of dating Ren comes back into Kelsey's life and the rivalry begins. I recommend reading Tiger's Curse first. This is an exciting read and I guarantee will keep you entertained for hours!

    The Quest Continues

Colleen Houck brought us the amazing debut of the Tiger's Curse earlier in the year and Quest brings us right as our main character Kelsey has chosen to return to Oregon and give Ren the chance to experience life as a man.
Once Kelsey returned home, not only did she find a new house, car and career lineup at school but she found that she was missing something vital, she was missing Ren. Trying to rebuild her life through the painful separation Kelsey tries to recreate her pre-tiger life to no avail. Quest was just amazing. Colleen Houck gives us a set of magnificently written characters who we feel for and want more of all the time.
As the story continues there are many challenges that Ren, Kelsey and Kishan must face, overcome, and try and fix that make this book amazing. It has the action, the romance, and the puzzles like the last book and once you pick it up to read it is hard to want to put down.
Again the publishers have created a beautiful cover! The artist is amazing and Kishan looks utterly majestic.

If you loved Curse, Quest will too sweep you off your feet in a new direction.
When love seems lost, the strong willed survive.
Pick it up, pre-order it, because the Quest begins soon.

    Much more than 5 stars!

This is an AWESOME, AWESOME series! The best I've ever read! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. This second book in the series is even better than the first and held my attention (as if I could even bear to tear my eyes away) from cover to cover. No book has ever done that as far as I can remember. The first series that has my heart in big tight knots and the first series that I will actually re-read. Thanks Colleen for the fabulous story. You are a talented writer - please keep on writing! I'm anxiously (as in sitting-on-my-hands-knocking-my-knees-together anxious) waiting for the release of book 3 and 4!

Tiger's Quest is a wonderful follow-up to Tiger's Curse. The myths of the Asians were interesting. The writing was wonderful and worked out smoothly and flowed well. Was a compelling and well-crafted storyline. Kelsey goes back to Oregon. Ren experiences life without her. She tries to date other guys, Li. After a few months of dating, Ren comes back into Kelsey's life and suddenly everything changes. An exciting and compelling read that will keep you excited!

    Great sequel to Tiger's Curse

I really enjoyed this book. It starts off with Kelsey returning home from India and trying to move on with her life. After she starts settling back into her old life and starts dating, Ren comes back. It was funny how he handled the whole dating situation. He tells her that he wants her to date both Li and himself, which of course makes for some interesting chapters.

In this book you get to know Kishan a lot more than you did in Tiger's Curse. Kelsey and Kishan spend a lot of time in this book while they take on the next adventure to retrieve another piece of the puzzle to solve the curse.

The world building was just as detailed as the first one and really sucked you in.

    Favorite quote...
"If a kind owned a pearl without price, a gem he cherished above all. Would he hide it away, bury it from sight afraid others would take it? Or would he display it proudly, set it in a ring or crown, so that all the world could behold its beauty and see what richness it brings to his life? You are my pearl without price." - Ren

AMAZING BOOK!! HAD TEARS IN MY EYES AT THE END!

This was an amazing book. I was so into it that at the end I had tears in my eyes. The book is beautifully written. When I finished the book I couldn't stop thinking about it. I sat in bed and thought about it. This is a series that you must read!

    obsessing!

I started reading this at the book store, but I never got a chance to finish it, and I thought that it was a little too pricey to buy it at $18.
And now that I don't have access to it, I'm going mad! This series is definitely one of my favs, because it has me bursting out in laughter, and biting my nails (altogether thoroughly annoying my fellow book shoppers) in just a few pages. Can't wait to finish it!

These books were originally published about a year or so ago in some regions of Organ and Texas etc, very few books sold since there wasn't a real publisher behind the books. Now that there is a publisher the books were recalled from shelves, got new cover art and release dates. Some copies still are on shelves of libraries in some places in Organ and Texas thgough.
