    Till There Was You

I ahve read all of Lynn Kurland's books, and they are great, including the three "fantasy" world princess ones - but then who doesn't love big, yummy guys who can fight with swords? This one's a fun adventure in the next installment of the Scotland/England living inter-related brood of Scots, Brits, ghosts, & Yanks over 800 years of fmaily history. It's fun to visit past couples and get update/predates as new central charaters move about. I liked meeting the newest match making ghost and loved meeting Mary's many young male cousins. I aniticipate future stories involving them. While each of her books could stand alone, to get the full quota of fun they really should be read in order. Can't wait for the next one!

This is an amusing time travel romance

In present day London, Zachary Smith is bone weary tired of unreasonable clients like Viscount Franbury who he would like to shove down the man's throat the architectural drawings, but fears the designs might be ruined. He also is weary of women like the client's cunning nasty sister Lady Beatrice Smythe-Gordon. Finally he is weary of the paranormal especially those matchmaking ghosts who haunt him. Zach plans to call his "former" boss to tell him what is coming his way and quits.---------------

Zach walks through a door at Artane and finds himself sharing a dungeon with Mary de Piaget, a thirteenth century relative of one of his modern day ghosts. Zach having performed in reenactments has no major adjustment to the era, but has problems with his vow of no women as he is instantly attracted to the cross dressing Mary; whose father has arranged for her to marry as he can no longer delay the inevitable. Being a student of history, Zach understands he must be extremely careful not to change anything, but when someone tries to kill Mary using poison, he brings his beloved into his time; not knowing that the past never goes away.---------------------------

This is an amusing time travel romance starring a terrific fully developed hero whose good intentions present and past are devastated by love. Mary is a strong person who takes to the role of liberated woman with ease as she was a forerunner prototype back in 1258. Fans will enjoy their fast-paced adventures as he learns finally how not to get out of the rain but to enjoy the rain from his beloved teacher Mary who lives life to the fullest.-----------------

    LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!

I loved this book as much as I have loved all the previous books by Ms. Kurland. One reader complained of confusing writing in the beginning of the book. You pretty much have to read all the books in consecutive order to have a full understanding of all of the characters and story lines. Her characters are well developed and strong and the family banter interspersed with the romance throughout the book was very entertaining. It's nice to have a good chuckle at the antics of these characters throughout the book and there were some portions of the story where I laughed out loud. I have in my collection all of her books. I re-read them often. I can't wait for the next book.

Best if you read the other books that came before it in the series by this author so you could follow the plot and characters that came up in prior books.

Great escapism with time travel, ghosts, romance, humor, adventure a little something for every woman who enjoys a good work of fiction on a quiet rainy day or evening home alone. I recommend reading the other books by this author in in this series first, so you will be familiar with the characters and places and prior references. Even on its own merit, this book will entertain for hours, as you follow Zach and the choices he is presented with in a strange and frightening place and time, and how he resolves his problems.

A wonderful addition to my Kurland library!

This was all that I hoped it would be! Reading about the characters is like going home for a family reunion. It was great fun visiting with the new characters and family members as well as getting updates on characters from past books.
I love the passion of the characters, the comedy and their interesting 'obstacles' they have to overcome. Reading Time Travel Historical Romance is my favorite genre and
Kurland is one of the best authors in this format. Sit back and enjoy!

    I like Lynn Kurland.

I like her use of the English language and her imagination. It's fun to read a book that prompts you to think, "wouldn't it be great if I could do that." You will read this book from cover to cover.

    haven't read yet

I haven't read this book yet but I'm curious- I thought that Mary died of pneumonia? I really like Lynn Kurland's books, particularly Robin's story, but I'm bothered by the inconsistencies with the order and timelines. I wish that she would just start a new series instead of adding books and messing up the order. After her first few books, there are so many inconsistencies after she went back through with new characters. A little bothersome . . .

    Couldn't make it through...

The concept of this book caught my interest, but unfortunately the story didn't. I think I made it about halfway through before I finally gave up. The beginning of the book was confusing and I had to reread it to understand who the "ghosts" were that were invading his life. I wouldn't waste your money on this book, but if you're still interested pick it up at the library.
