All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Time Capsule is an excellent, 18-track collection that offers a comprehensive overview of the B-52's' career, from their kitschy post-punk beginnings to their unexpected chart success in the early '90s. Then again, the very idea behind Time Capsule is to provide a concise introduction for the curious, and on that level, it works perfectly.

Cheerful, Upbeat, Entertaining Music from the Past Decades

The B52s was one of my favorite space bands when I was a teenager with their song "Downtown" being quite funny also. I missed hearing my favorite--"Planet Claire" on the radio so I bought the CD. There are some great tunes on this such as "Rock Lobster," "Quiche Lorraine," "Private Idaho," and more. Another great is "53 miles West of Venus" which is on another CD of theirs. When this band came out, they were known as being the only band to successfully put through space music.
