Jenny Bontrager is finally at a place of love and belonging with her husband, Matthew, and his children. Life seems golden with both her family and career as a writer.
But everything Jenny now believes in is thrown into question with the discovery of a long-lost letter from her father. Her sense of peace and contentment destroyed by betrayal, Jenny struggles with her renewed faith--and the love of everyone around her.
“Barbara Cameron has written another wonderful, sweet story that tugs at the emotions. Amish fiction fans will definitely want to add A Time for Peace to their library.” --Kathleen Fuller, best-selling author of A Summer Secret, A Hand to Hold, and The Secrets Beneath
"A Time for Peace, Barbara Cameron's newest heartwarming story in the Quilts of Lancaster County series, invites readers to come on in, sit down around the table for a cup of tea while getting to know this Amish family where love is happening. When troubles and doubts come for Jenny, you'll be living her story with her and hoping she won't lose sight of that ribbon of love that so strongly binds these people together." Ann H. Gabhart, author of The Outsider, Summer of Joy, and Angel Sister
I really like this book. It was a fast moving story that caught my attention right away, and once I started I couldn't put it down. Jenny is a very likable character, and a person that most woman can relate to. She has almost the perfect life that she has always wanted. She is married to her childhood sweetheart, has 3 children and is almost completely adjusted to the Amish way of life. Jenny didn't grow up Amish but spent time with her Amish grandmother, this is how she meet Matthew the love of her life. But due to circumstance out of her control Jenny doesn't marry Matthew when they are young, instead she goes out into the world. After an accident Jenny goes home to her grandmother to recuperate. This is when she finds Matthew again, and they fall in love all over again. But Matthew had already been married, and had 3 children with his wife before she passed away. So while Jenny loves Matthews children as her own, they are Matthews and Amelias. This is brought front and center when Jenny learns that they could have been hers, if only someone didn't interfere with her life. This story of how Jenny learns of this, and how she learns to let go of the past, and to forgive those who made choices for her. She learns to really love what she has, as she almost looses it. This is a great story that shows you that it is important to value what you do have, don't go looking for what might have been accept that you are right where you are supposed to be. Trust in God to lead you where you need to be, he will provide for you and make sure that you are in the right spot at the right time.Because lets say that Matthew and Jenny did marry when they were younger, they might not be at the same place in their lives and marriage right now if that had happened.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 books. Can't wait for the next one to come out. It is refreshing to see God, family and friendships so highly regarded. The stories made my heart smile!

Between all the kids using this as a chat room, the kids roleplaying and the plot spoilers, there is hardly any real reviews.
