Time for Travellin': The Best of Joe Ely, Vol. 2 fills the gaps left by Edsel's previous Ely compilation, No Bad Talk or Loud Talk, offering 19 tracks from Ely's first four albums that weren't featured on that collection. It's a testament to Ely's talent and the quality of the records that these aren't lesser songs -- they're just a little less celebrated. In many ways, it makes more sense to acquire the original albums, since the songs that didn't make these collections are also quite good, but if you want to take the compilation route, neither Time for Travellin' or No Bad Talk or Loud Talk will disappoint.
