Time Let Me Be
Against the grim and heartbreaking background of The Great Depression Days of the Thirties, a ten-year old girl, Frankie Lee narrates the story of her life as she struggles to understand what is happening to her. She is stretched, molded, pummeled, and exhilarated by the people who make up her world: a stern, religious mother, a loving and inept father, a handsome brother who drinks too much, an ambitious and self-serving sister and an Aunt Ros, whose gusto and exuberance for life thrills Frankie and makes her wish for "more."
