Overview

Get ready for one wild ride! The year is 3698 and the threat of civil war is not only brewing, but near boiling. Kwaku Awahnee, Time Master of Muirara, must pass on his Time Mastership to his pre-chosen successor, Dallan MacDonald, to prevent the inevitable. Councilor John Eaton must tell the unsuspecting Scot of his new office and all it entails. There are, however, a few slight problems. To become a Time Master, the Highlander has to willingly join with a Muiraran Maiden, who, stolen as an infant, hidden in another time, and now grown, must mate or die. Dallan's job of convincing her that she is Muiraran, not human, and persuading her to fall in love with him is a small task compared to their impossible race against time. John's job is to make sure the Scot is ready to listen. And then, of course, talk him into it along the way.

How to describe this book is an interesting question. You could almost ask what Time Masters isn't and the answer would be- Nothing!!! It has every genre, all the elements of a good story, and a superb quality of writing rolled into one. Dallan is not only a hunk, he's also got the Romance factor going on, if he didn't belong to Shona and was for real - I'd definitely be interested. This is some of the best writing I've seen out there and mind you I read voraciously. The plot has been excellently crafted and the characters come to life on the page as well as in the reader's imagination even after putting the book down. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll even be frightened at times. If you like rollercoasters - hop on. The story goes from a "comedy sketch" due to characters being out of their accustomed environment on one page to fight scenes with action, adventure and suspense on the next. The emotional fluctuations come at you often and fast in this book but that is part of what makes Time Masters so riveting. It will keep you up all night just to find out what happens on the next page, in the next chapter or even how the book ends. I have yet to find another author who can evoke such intense responses with the written word. This is one book worth owning and rereading many times. Geralyn puts so much into the story that you find new details and thoughts popping up every time you read it. I quit counting my "reads" for this book before it was even released and now own two copies including an autographed one. Any sequels she writes will certainly be added to my library. I am already chomping at the bit for Time Masters Book Two: The Prophecy. You just might find a new author to add to your favorites list. I can assure you I did. Be sure and grab your copy of a must read and fyi for you electronic readers it is also available in a variety of digital formats too especially NOOK.

Love transcends time, culture and worlds. Love conquers all. Love endures and is eternal. At the heart of Time Masters: The Call is love. Dallan MacDonald is our hero. Right off the bat we learn that Dallan is valiant and willing to die for his family. It is the 1600s and brave Dallan¿s skill as a warrior is put to the test when the Campbell clan raids and massacres his family at Glencoe, Scotland. Despite Dallan¿s valiant efforts, he is wounded and witnesses the death of his brother Alasdair. Into the heat of battle a huge dark warrior suddenly appears, as Dallan vision clouds. Two thousand years later Dallan finds himself being prepare for a special purpose. It is now the year 3698 and Time Master Kwaku Awahnee must pass on his Time Mastership to his pre-chosen successor, Dallan MacDonald. There is one catch though. Dallan must be willing joined with a Muiraran maiden. This will be no easy task. The maiden has been hidden way in the time frame of the 1990s. This is a race against time and through time. The thread of love will be what saves us all. Yes, this is a fantasy epic with a science fiction time travel twist. Yes, this is a love story. A story about action heroes. This is also an action book, full of fast pace, gut wrenching encounters that will cause you to shout, ¿Let me out of this crazy thing!¿ This is a 566 page turning thrill ride that will leave the reader exhausted and crying for more in the same breath. Geralyn Beauchamp has pinned the first book of what is surely to become a classic. Those of you who like science fiction time travel and action adventure will not be disappointed. The love angle only adds to the thrill of the whole book.

This is by far one of the best books I have read in a very long time. My usual source of reading choices is the New York Times Best Seller List and this book rates right up there with the best of them. I was captivated from the first page and devoured the book ravenously. The story line brings two different times in history and places in the world together in an incredibly fascinating way. Romance, intrigue, adventure, mystery ¿ just for starters ¿ are rampant throughout the book. What a masterpiece! I will be eagerly watching and waiting for the remaining books in the series!

Time Masters was a three-day 'would have been shorter if not for school' read. I could not put it down it was so fun to read. The characters are easy to fall in love with and, the romance, adventure and, humor were all so wonderfully blended it turned into a tasty baked good you could read! I have a copy at home and am getting to read it again after I finish the pile I have at home. No one should miss this opportunity to dive into a magical world that will capture the mind.
