"Elizabeth Madox Roberts was that rare thing, a true artist." —Robert Penn Warren, author, Pulitzer Prize-winning All the King's Men

I read this as part of one of my American Literature courses. It tells the story of a girl growng up as a migrant farmer. Elizabeth Madox Roberts is a magnificent writer who has gone unnoticed for far too long. More people should read this book. Then hopefully her other books will be brought back into print. The fact that this book has gone out of print once is too many. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
