I started my planning for a 2010 Amsterdam trip with little to no knowledge of the city beyond the stereotypes. After breezing through this guide, I now eagerly await my visit. The Time Out guides make it easy to get the lowdown on a city, putting "what's now" into context and sifting through the various options to curate a focused collection of recommendations. Short, sweet, and smart, the writers at Time Out seem to get what a lot of others don't - how to put together an engaging guide that doesn't bog you down with every possible detail. What are the hottest clubs? If you're going the "coffee" route, where should you go? And what about food...my personal travel category fave? Maybe it's knowing their audience. Whatever the case, it works for me.
