A great read for a short trip

My normal travel-planning style is to conduct copious amounts of research to create a greatest-hits itinerary. This time around, I decided - why not let someone else do it? The Time Out guides are witty, modern, and geared toward the culture-savvy traveler who wants a quick list of the best digs, restaurants, sights, and shops. Not a comprehensive guide (and not intended to be), there's less on history than some travelers may like, but if you're in it for a ground-level guide that doesn't require days and days of reading, this does the trick.
