Editorial Reviews

Roland Green
In the twenty-first century, a global disaster makes time travel possible, and tourists regularly visit known parts of the past, although only in the tracks of time scouts who pioneer new time gates. Retired time scout Kit Carson has to deal with a granddaughter he never knew who is determined to become the first female time scout. Margo, semieducated and abused but tough and smart, learns weapons, languages, and self-discipline as she progresses from tourist to researcher to pioneer of a new gate--a status that almost ends in disaster and requires rescue by her grandfather and her lover-mentor. Engaging, fast moving, historically literate, and filled with Asprin's expertise on the techniques and philosophy of personal combat, this is first-class action sf.

This book was exciting and fun. Couldn't put it down. The rest of the books in the series just get better. I highly recommend them.

Sharp, Witty and just a little off the wall. Great depth of character without a ton of needless info. Characters are interesting and not stereotypes. Great story line, fast moving, involved and just plain fun. I read this book and went out the next day to get the rest... save yourself the bother and get them all at once.
