    What A "Little" Gem!

I first found this book at my local library, while searching for various books on writing. After unloading an armful onto the table, flipping through each one, and jotting down notes, I realized "Time To Write" was exactly what I was looking for.....Great tips on not only finding the time to write, but what to do when we lose our confidence, hit a writer's block, etc. Obviously, I went to Barnes and Noble and immediately ordered it, so I would always have it in my moments of need! AND, as an added bonus, I e-mailed Kelly L. Stone about this fabulous book and we've become e-mail buddies. I also showcase this book and her upcoming one "Thinking Write" on my blog.

A wonderful read and an even more wonderful reference!

This is one of the best books I have read--and reread--about writing. Without being preachy, Kelly Stone serves the aspiring writer very practical advice about getting into the process and becoming productive. Not only does she offer her own suggestions but draws on the experience and expertise of other professionals to give recommendations about the art and practice. What I found is that if one idea doesn't fit my life, there are plenty of others that just might work. I have already put into practice several of the ideas given here and am pleasantly surprised. If something doesn't work, I move on to the next idea and it fits perfectly! It's something like working on a jigsaw puzzle: Kelly gives you a table full of pieces and you look until you find one that fits what you're trying to do! Often other books on writing have overwhelmed me with forms and magical potions which never seem to work. Things like "write a paragraph in the third person about what you felt when your baby octopus ran away!" It's always left me wondering what I have done wrong with my life. Kelly doesn't go there. It gets five stars from me!
