With his loss goes his drive to make flying a safe, every day convenience by becoming president of American Airlines and later during WWII, was an advisor to the president. Once again the 1800 Club taps a member to go back only to find out that he would be no match against a WWI German fighter pilot. He presents the club with his idea: Send back his grandfather.
Chapter II The Amelia Earhart Mission
What happens when Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, completes the around-the-world flight that she originally disappeared on? Japan thinks that she was taking photographs of Truk, one of their naval staging islands, and attacks the U.S. earlier than she originally did. Signing a pact with Mexico Japan not only attacks Pearl Harbor but invades from Mexico and other spots along the Pacific coast. The club’s president, William Scott decides to send pilot John Brand back with him as a co-pilot. They must fly thousands of miles in an aircraft from the future to guide Amelia and Fred to a better ending.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I now reside in Long Beach, N.Y. I worked in New York City as an Art Director for 3 different magazines one of which was UFO magazine. I've been writing short stories for the past 14 years and found Time Travel to be my favorite topic. In between I've penned a young adult time travel book, two aviation trivia books, a book about a family of vampires, a romantic western and another time travel book plus a high-action thriller.

Enjoyable Time Travel Book & Overall Great Series of Bookds

I love a good time travel story and can say I truly enjoyed this. It is part of a great group of ebooks dealing with the fictional 1800 Club set in NYC circa 2011. On the surface, the club is a respite for modern day people who love immersing themselves in the 1800s to the point they could literally fit in. However, the club has another purpose. It was founded with the help of historians in 2066 who are able to monitor the past via time travel which allows them to send probes which from time to time discover history detouring off its recorded track. Since they can not travel through time, the historians use an appointed agent at the club to recruit members in 2011 to travel back into time and quietly fix history. Each book has two separate stories. This particular book, the fourth of five to have been published so far, deals with a mission to keep American ace pilot Eddie Rickenbacker from being killed in World War I and another to prevent Amelia Earhart from completing her famous around the world trip. I have read all the books over the last few months and have found the stories clever and enjoyable. If you like a good time travel/adventure story, I suggest this and the whole series.

    Good Escape!

I find all of the "Time Travel Adventures" books to be great escape from everyday life. They're well-written and contain no offensive language (sometimes to a goofy extent, golly, gee whiz!). The only issue I have with them is when the representative from the 'History Trackers' group in 2066 goes back to 2011 and has tremendous breathing problems because the air of 2011 is so heavily polluted as compared to 2066. PLEASE!!! Give me a break: the guy can last only 5 minutes and almost faints from the polluted air? Let's make this a bit more realistic Mr. McAuley. Why are the time travelers from 2011 able to back to the 1800s and experience no pollution issues except for the smell of horse manure?
Enough complaining, though. I still love reading these stories!
